Man accused of stealing $36K in property from Raleigh home

Wake County sheriff's deputies have arrested a man accused of stilling more than thousands of dollars in property from a Raleigh woman.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake County sheriff's deputies have arrested a man accused of stealing thousands of dollars in property from a Raleigh woman.

Howard Lee Covington, 22, of 6104-D Spice Ridge Lane, was charged Monday with one felony count each of breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering.

An arrest warrant alleges that Covington stole jewelry, ammunition, iPads, computers, clothing and other items, valued at $36,629.73, from a home on Olde South Road in southwest Raleigh on Nov. 12.

Covington was placed in the Wake County Detention Center Monday afternoon, but a bond amount had not yet been set.
