Man accused of biting, attempting to take Raleigh officer's gun

A 27-year-old Raleigh man is accused of biting and cutting a Raleigh police officer and trying to take his gun on Saturday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 27-year-old Raleigh man is accused of biting and cutting a Raleigh police officer and attempting to take his gun on Saturday.

Steve Leonard Johnson Cobb, of 5639 Western Boulevard, was arrested and charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, attempted common law robbery, resisting a public officer and marijuana possession.

Raleigh police officer B.S. McLamb was attempting to arrest Cobb when the assault occurred.

Cobb remained at the Wake County jail Sunday on a $80,000 bond.
