Man, 73, killed in Raleigh wreck

A 73-year-old man died in a crash in Raleigh Tuesday evening, according to the state Highway Patrol.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 73-year-old man died in a crash in Raleigh Tuesday evening, according to the state Highway Patrol.

Robert Norman Binns, of 5011 Tallwood Drive, was killed when his vehicle went off the road to the right, hit a mailbox, then went to the left and crashed in a ditch on Shooting Club Road at about 8 p.m., troopers said.

Authorities said they weren't sure if the crash was weather-related. No other details were provided.
