Man, 32, injured in west Fayetteville shooting

— A 32-year-old man was critically injured early Wednesday in a shooting near the intersection of Northumberland Street and South Reilly Road, Fayetteville police said.

Officers responded to the area at about 3 a.m., and the unidentified victim was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Authorities closed South Reilly Road between Cliffdale Road and Northumberland Street following the shooting. 

No arrests have been made, and no other information about the incident has been released.

The shooting happened just hours after hundreds of people rallied outside the Cumberland County Courthouse to speak out against violence in Fayetteville.

    He won't do that, because people there will pay no attention to him. He thrives on being a thorn in the side of those who work for a living and value their rights AND work and fight to retain them.

    Hang out where this guy did at 3AM and you'll find out.

    If you are really concerned, you can move to the UK or Australia, where it's apparently safe.

    "Not One More" has to be the most useless piffle I've ever heard. Leave it to a Californian to come up with such a useless phrase.

    Nothing good happens out on the streets at 3 AM. Don't be in dangerous places at dangerous times ... simple lesson here.
