Man dead, teen charged in Clayton mobile home park shooting

A 28-year-old Clayton man was killed and a 17-year-old was charged in a shooting at Alta Mobile Home Park in the 1000 block of South Lombard Street early Sunday, according to a town official.

CLAYTON, N.C. — A 28-year-old Clayton man was killed and a 17-year-old was charged in a shooting at Alta Mobile Home Park in the 1000 block of South Lombard Street early Sunday, according to a town official.

Robert Lee Horton was shot several times and was found on the living room floor of lot 67 shortly after 2:30 a.m. He was taken to WakeMed in Raleigh, where he died.

An arrest warrant was issued for Cortaz Quemel Lucas Jr., who is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting.

Lucas was arrested in October for assault inflicting serious injury and second-degree trespassing. He was convicted in July for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a minor and misdemeanor larceny.
