Man, 21, killed in wreck on Falls of Neuse Road
Raleigh police say a man died Tuesday evening in a traffic accident along the 5500 block of Falls of Neuse Road near Fairfax Drive.
Posted — UpdatedThe man was identified as Orlando Luis McKinnon, 21, of Raleigh.
The wreck caused traffic delays for nearly four hours, and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
The wreck occurred when a vehicle, driven by 23-year-old Stephon McCall Palmer, of Raleigh, traveling about 100 mph on Falls of Neuse Road lost control and crossed the center turning lane striking one car and then spinning out of control into a second car, according to the wreck report.
McKinnon was riding in Palmer's vehicle.
Alcohol and drugs were suspected as a factor in the crash, according to the wreck report. Tests are pending.
