CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A 20-year-old Chapel Hill man has been charged with two counts of sexual battery in connection with separate assaults that happened on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus in the last month.

According to investigators, Dontay Awtwanne Rone "forcefully slapped" a female student on the buttocks shortly after 8:15 a.m. Thursday as she entered Carroll Hall.

Rone was also charged in connection with a June 20 incident in which a female student reported being touched on her buttocks after being followed from Franklin Street to the Paul Green Theater on campus.

Rone is not a student, UNC police said Friday.
