Man, 19, facing charges in fatal Spring Lake wreck
Charges were pending against a 19-year-old driver who crossed the center line on Overhills Road and crashed into an SUV around 10 p.m. Thursday, killing the SUV’s driver and injuring its passenger, according to troopers.

Alcohol was a factor in the crash, troopers said.
Anthony Gonzales, of Spring Lake, was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer when he drove left of center and hit a 1996 Ford Explorer carrying two people. Gonzales survived the crash and was listed in fair condition at UNC Hospital.
The driver of the 1996 Explorer died. Troopers identified him as Robert Boyle Eason, 38, of Spring Lake. His passenger, whose name was not released, was in stable condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
