Man charged with murder in Spring Lake man's death

A 20-year-old Fayetteville man has been arrested and charged with the death of an 18-year-old man who was shot and killed in July, according to the Harnett County Sheriff's Office.

SPRING LAKE, N.C. — A 20-year-old Fayetteville man has been arrested and charged with the death of an 18-year-old man who was shot and killed in July, according to the Harnett County Sheriff's Office.

According to investigators, Nathaniel James Anthony Tearry, of 2222 Enloe Street, shot and killed Eric Kentrall Staten in a shopping center parking lot on Ray Road in Spring Lake on July 30.

Tearry was charged with first degree murder and was placed in the Harnett County Detention Center without bond.

Tearry is expected to make his first court appearance Monday.
