Male pedestrian suffers non-life-threatening injuries in Raleigh wreck

— A male pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries early Wednesday when he was hit by a car while walking across New Bern Avenue near Raleigh Boulevard, Raleigh police said.

The pedestrian was taken to WakeMed following the incident, which happened at about 7 a.m.

According to investigators, the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk when he was hit. The driver will not be charged.

    Here we go again. This just keeps happening. The victim was the driver. The pedestrian walked out in front of the vehicle. Why would you do that? Recommendation: Don't go into the street until the traffic is clear.

    Something we use to be taught by parents and first grade teachers. Look both ways before crossing the street. Lived out in the country so traffic lights were few and crosswalk only existed in front of schools on a paved road also if car tractor or animal was coming down the road you moved out of the way so you would not get hurt
