Make valentines, support Raleigh arts, scholarship programs

Posted January 23

Valentine's Day

The city of Raleigh's Sertoma and Pullen arts centers will host the sixth annual Paint your heART Out fundraiser in a couple of weeks.

For a minimum donation of $6 per person, participants can create an original Valentine's Day masterpiece on canvas with paint and other materials, which are all provided. The fundraiser raises money for the city's arts and scholarship support programs.

It takes place 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Feb. 4, at Pullen Arts Center near downtown Raleigh and is designed for young children to adults and families. The cost is $6 per person for a small canvas, $10 for a medium sized canvas and $12 for a large canvass.

Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required. You can just sign up the day of the program. If you'd like to donate more, call Pullen Arts Center at 919-996-6126, include a note on your registration or bring it in person the day of the event, according to the city.

The city's website has more information about the program and how you can get involved. Sounds like a fun way to spend a few hours with friends or family and help out the community.
