RALEIGH, N.C. — After a beautiful spring-like weekend, there's rain in the forecast Sunday, WRAL meteorologist Aimee Wilmoth said.

Temperatures will start out warm with highs in the mid-60s. Don’t be alarmed by some clouds and precipitation toward the end of the day.

"We're not expecting severe weather here, but we do have the potential for some rain and maybe some thunderstorms in the afternoon into evening," Wilmoth said.

Temperatures will continue warming up before the chance for rain enters the picture.

"Any severe weather is likely going to be well west of us tomorrow," Wilmoth said. "And as this system heads to the east, it will gradually weaken. It will not be as rough as it is to the west of us."

7-Day Forecast

Moisture will come with the slow-moving front on Monday, though, to soak the Triangle.

"Monday morning we have some rain for the morning commute, and light rain is possible through the day."

Temperatures will remain mild through next week, with the lowest high temperature coming Monday at 60 degrees.

Tuesday will be warm with a high of 64 degrees and sunny skies that extend into Wednesday.

Thursday brings a bit of rain before another sunny, mild weekend.
