Maintenance closes lane on I-95 near Smithfield

The right lane of I-95 South will be closed to traffic for about three miles, from milemarker 100 to 97 north of Smithfield.

SMITHFIELD, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation was doing maintenance on guardrails along Interstate 95 South in Johnston County Tuesday. Work was expected to last until about 7 p.m.

For the duration of the project, the right lane will be closed to traffic for about three miles, from milemarker 100 to 97 north of Smithfield.

Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling in the area and to expect delays.
