Denise Wiggins launched LipSynk Cosmetics last year to help women who are struggling just like she did once - single moms, who want to make a life for their family.

Denise Wiggins launched LipSynk Cosmetics last year to help women who are struggling just like she did once - single moms, who want to make a life for their family.

Wiggins, a mom of three, stepmom of two and grandmother, knows how hard that life can be. She lived it. She gives credit to God and a group of other women to help push her out of the cycle and into the life she is living today.

"We need that push," she told me earlier this year. "We need something to lift us up and encourage us."

Wiggins' LipSynk Cosmetics is part of our 2015 Made by Mom Gift Guide, sponsored by Midwifery at Women's Health Alliance. She's one of a dozen local businesses that we're featuring over the next couple of weeks with the hopes that Go Ask Mom readers find ways to support these local businesses and parents.

LipSynk Cosmetics offers a full line of cosmetics - from lipsticks to foundations.

As part of her efforts, Wiggins also works hard to give back. She donates $1 of each lip gloss purchase to a domestic violence foundation. She also will be offering a $500 scholarship to a single mom. The first scholarship will be awarded in August.

"I am feeling blessed and grateful about my business to see how far we have come," she tells me. "We are growing by leaps and bounds. To be able to bless so many people and see the faces of the people we have impacted and getting emails and calls from women we have encouraged and touch their lives, it's a feeling I really can't explain. Just grateful."
