Lynda Loveland: Where's my stuff?

I thought I gave birth to three sweet little babies. But, in reality, I birthed three bold-faced bandits!

Have you noticed, once you become a parent, that stuff goes missing? Maybe you think you just forgot where you put it. Oh no. I betcha a kid took it!

The phone is a big one. I’d swear I set it next to my purse. So I get out the home phone and dial my cell. Where do I end up finding it? Lodged in-between the couch cushions!

My fingernail clippers … not in my bathroom drawer, but underneath my daughter’s dresser. Hmmm, right where I left them because I like to put my hands in dark, small places to clip my nails.

My hair clips … in the bottom of the toy chest because I like to crawl in there to get ready in the morning.

My handheld garden clippers … underneath a bush that looks like it was attacked by Edward Scissorhands on crack.

But, you know what, the more I think about it, I think all kids do it. My mom would freak out if she knew I used her eyebrow tweezers to pick the ticks off our farm dogs!

Taking things is a given. But how bout a beebee hole in the gutters? Hmmmm no one seems to know anything about that. And the concrete hole in my garage someone chipped with a hammer? Nah..we dont know nuttin bout that Dad. All my tools too? I had them all organized and now I cant even find a screwdriver... I love my kids more than anything but in my next life I think I will just stick to dogs.

I completely understand. One morning I was running late, and struggling to get out the door when I realized I did not have my keys. I checked my pocket book, I checked my bag, I checked my kitchen and other places in my house... finally my one year old looked at me and said "no work mommy", I looked in his toy box and there they were. He had hid them from me because he wanted me to stay home. I could not get mad... he just wanted more time with his mommy! Now I get him up 15 minutes earlier in the morning to have cuddle time and watch tv, and that has not happened since. I know that I will "lose" many things in the future though ha ha...

LOL!! Hope you took pictures. Reminds me of when we had our 2 yr. old and were visiting an old lady. He somehow snuck into the bathroom and was quiet for a minute. When we found him, he had basically rolled her bathroom. I couldn't be too hard on him... there wasn't anything else for him to do there.

My iPhone charger goes missing all the time, but I never know if I need to ask my son or my husband. I want to buy a sparkly pink and purple iPhone charger so neither of them will touch it. (That's how I finally got an umbrella to call my own.)

My 4 1/2 year old grandson now his own tool box and tools so he leaves his dad's alone :) Must be in the family genes, my great nephew has his own tool box too. His mom always asks him to borrow a tool because it's quicker than asking her husband.

I have to say my kids are very good at asking before they take anything. I've always had the rule "ask before taking" and both my girls do a very good job at doing that. That's how I was raised by my parents so I kinda followed their suit. But it may be another story once they reach the teen years. :)

I have 3 teenage daughters and can NEVER find what I am looking for...one of the three of them (most often the oldest) has 'borrowed' it for something!

Kitchen supplies, particularly measuring cups and wooden spoons? Always found in my son's toy box. Right before Christmas my new box of maxi pads went missing. Our 2.5 year old had decorated the Christmas tree with them.
