Lynda Loveland: Best places in the world to be a mom

— We're happy to announce that Lynda Loveland has returned to WRAL-TV.

She will co-anchor WRAL News on FOX 50 weekday mornings 7 to 9 a.m. with Michelle Marsh. She will also report and fill-in anchor on WRAL.

Loveland worked in the WRAL newsroom for 10 years before leaving the anchor desk for a morning drive co-host spot on Capitol Broadcasting Company sister radio station MIX101.5 WRAL-FM.

After five years at the radio mic, she’s ready to return to television.

“I'm absolutely thrilled to be coming back to WRAL-TV! Not only is the name synonymous with news excellence, but for me, it also stands for family. I can't wait to get back in the newsroom Friday morning,”  she said.

Judging by the response on social media, viewers are excited to see her back on television. The facebook pages of WRAL-TV, FOX 50, and MIX 101.5 exploded with comments of support. #WelcomeHomeLynda generated 259,561 impressions on Twitter, where WRAL-TV News Director Rick Gall broke the news.

"Lynda is a seasoned journalist and talented anchor," Gall said. "She's very well known across the viewing area. For more than 15 years, she's interacted and connected with people here. It's great to have her back in the newsroom!"

Glad to see her back on TV. She looks very attractive and has a pleasing voice. Good way to start the day.

She was too pretty to be on the radio.

Good! Push her chair out of the way. When she sits on the floor she is as tall as the other people behind the desk that are in chairs

Lynda is a talented newsperson and I think she is actually better on TV than on radio. Just don't move other people aside that have worked their way and paid their dues to make way for her to be back

WRAL FM was wonderful with Bill Jordan. Lynda couldn't carry it when he left, she didn't have the personality or wit. When Mike came, he was not what was needed, and the two of them didn't have the chemistry. I am not surprised they were let go and I fully expected to hear Lynda would be coming back to tv. I am glad she won't be on the WRAL morning news, but will be on the FOX news. She is ok, and I'm not a big Michelle fan either so it will be interesting to see how long that team works. I just hope they never cut Renee out to make room for Lynda to come back with Bill Leslie.

Remember going to a Carolina Panthers game in Charlotte on the WRAL bus as a guest. Everyone was talking about the news reporter just hired and that she was very tall..

A popular media site you pay for (which some WRAL personalities do because they leave comments) say that the Morning Show was canceled and Lynda and Mike were terminated and offered a package to leave. Mike took the package and moved back to Portland and Lynda begged to remain at CBC. She was offered a much lower paying job to anchor Fox50 News which is also in the ratings toilet. Good for her, at least she still has a job. She'd likely not be working anywhere else here had she not taken this job.
