Last week, I had to make the decision whether or not to drive to Myrtle Beach to join the family at a soccer tournament.

They were leaving Friday after school. I had to work and couldn't leave until the next morning. I wanted to go, but I hated to spend seven hours on the road to stay there just 24 hours. Plus, you factor in the extra miles on a second vehicle not to mention the gas. Then there's the guilt factor.

Although my husband gave me a free pass for some down time, I wondered what to do.

After MUCH thought, I decided to stay behind. I ended up having dinner with my sister, whom I don't get to spend enough time with. It was really good to get together.

How did I spend the rest of the time? I worked my butt off around the house and got in a little over my head with a paint project. I thought wow, look at this free time. I must do something constructive with it!

I am the MASTER of taking the "R" out of "R and R"! My husband totally threw me a bone and all I did was bury it! Good grief, will I ever learn ...
