Lynda Loveland: The second wife!

Work comes early for me at Mix 101.5, so my husband, bless his heart, has to fly solo with the kids. At least that’s what I thought, until the big R informed me that my role has been filled in the mornings!

For the last couple of months, I’ve noticed that things in my makeup and hair drawer aren’t quite as they should be. It was subtle at first. A lipstick not twisted back in all the way. A hair tie in the wrong place. I didn’t think too much of it.

But then the disturbance to my personal space became more pronounced! A hair brush left on the counter or missing all together! What in the world? It was time for some answers!

I approached my husband one night. I said, “Honey, someone’s been messing with my stuff in the bathroom. What gives?” He said, “You’ve been replaced. Someone stepped in to fill your shoes!”

“Excuse me???”

Randall said, “I feel like I have a second wife in the morning. Right after breakfast, when I’m getting ready, Carys parks herself in front of your mirror and plays with her hair for 30 minutes! She brushes it to this side and then that side. Puts it up, takes it down. Pulls it back into a ponytail, takes it down. She looks through your makeup. She brushes her hair some more. And she does it, talking to me the whole time!”

Poor guy! As if one wife isn’t enough to deal with! But a pint-sized one as well???

I have to say, I giggled at the thought, initially. But then I started thinking, what in the world is this girl going to be like when she’s a teenager???
