Lowes Foods to close locations in Triangle

Posted August 15, 2013

Lowes Foods announced Thursday it will close two stores in the Triangle and offer the employees jobs at other locations in the area.

Stores at 1961 High House Road in the Cornerstone Village shopping center in Cary and at 2900 East Millbrook Road in Capitol Crossing shopping center in Raleigh will close Sept. 14, the company said in a statement.

Merchandise at the store will be progressively discounted, starting Friday.

Food Lion said Wednesday it was closing its store at 4215 University Drive in Durham by the end of the month. The owner of the shopping center, where a Kmart closed earlier this year, is not renewing the lease.

This is a good thing. The economy is heading in the right direction. Our leader has cracked down on big business. :) Things are great. New health care coming, tons of part time jobs available, for the 12 million new tax paying citizens. The middle east is partying like its 1999. You can marry anyone or anything you want. New York, and a bunch of other states are a lot safer now with fewer guns. I am proud to be an American in the new America.

Why that one and not the one at High House and Cary Pkwy? The one they are closing is the better of those two locations. Bigger and cleaner.
