No stouffer's french bread pizza or small Jolly rancher candy at Lowe's in Apex. Thanks to whoever was leaving coupons everywhere - I took a Wholly Salsa one and left a $2 Purina dog food coupon for someone else to use. There were tear pads in back right of store on free standing beer display for rotisserie chicken and one near ice cream for snacks on that beer display. New cashier and minor confusion on grapefruit coupons but another cashier made them good!

There always seems to be a disconnect at the Lowes in Cary at Davis/High House. This morning I asked for a raincheck for the stouffer's frozen meals and they refused because the "french bread pizza" wasn't in the ad. Um, yes....it's on the front page and qualifies under stouffer's frozen meals $1.78. lol I called the 800 number to verify it did qualify for a raincheck, and they confirmed it. There seems to be a communication issue at that store specifically for...at least for me!

I wanted to make a comment about the Lowes Foods on Davis/High House. I was there last week and tried to use the $2 coupon for 2-.99 Glade candles. I was told by two people that they would not take my coupon because it was more than the value of the product. I asked if I could just use 1.98 and they said it was their manager's rule. So, I left and went to the Lowes at High House/Cary Parkway and they took it without a problem. I guess I thought the coupon policy would be the same for all the Lowes stores but apparently not.

I scored 5 jars of peanut butter and 2 packs of AA batteries at lunch today for 7.54 (saved over $17). Could use some crunchy peanut butter now. I'll try one more store this evening and hope they have some.

I was VERY disasspointed in Lowe's this week. Everything I looked for almost was out. The rice that you had listed for .99 was 1.09 there. I still bought 2 of them, bc the prices you had listed and the prices in the store were different...sometimes up to .30 more. I would think that if you're going to have SD you may would have more stock than normal...but what do I know.

Faye, I haven't given up on them. They do have some good deals that still get me in the door from time to time. I am lucky to have so many Ht's nearby (I just thought of another one on the way home from work that I stop at, so that's 4 of them) and that does impact going to others sometimes. Although this week I have been to both Lowe's and Kroger, with another planned trip to each before super doubles ends tomorrow and the mega sale ends Saturday.

You are soooo lucky to have so many HT's close by, scoutmom! I wish! I can definitely understand that having to drive farther to get the to LF might not be worth the effort every week.

I'm just suggesting that you don't give up on Lowes Foods because there really are good deals there. I am heading back for another round of peanut butter today. lol

Thanks Faye. I do shop the sales everywhere and have gotten some good buys this week at Lowe's. It is not as convenient for me as some of the others (I have 3 HTs, 2 Food Lions and Kroger closer) and that probably plays into it as much as anything.

scoutmom and Diane - Lowes Foods is a very good loss leader store. Most weeks they have a number of good low price deals. The prices on peanut butter are excellent this week as are many others.

Yes, HT usually (but not always) has more of the better deals than most stores every week (if you coupon), but, if you use Lowes Foods like you would use any other grocery store, you will see the benefit.

As I do with all stores, I shop the loss leaders (very best deals) each week and get out. Just because there are not a million freebies there doesn't mean that they don't offer some excellent deals. Some of my best cereal, condiment, pasta, rice, peanut butter and dairy deals have been at Lowes Foods this year. It may be that you don't use the brands that they have on sale or you didn't have the right coupons, but I have found great buys there for years. Do I do all my shopping for the week there? Nope. But then again, I don't do all my shopping for the week at any 1 store. :-)
