Time4Change, you and I are not the only ones who have an issue with that manager at Clayton HT. I was on line at the Customer Service desk over the weekend with another customer, the manager made a snarky remark, and we both said that we have had negative experiences with him in the past. Sadly, he is almost always there when I shop, so he is unavoidable. We waited so long for this HT to open, and between this manager and their constant lack of stock, it has been a real disappointment.

JDOUGLAS13 - I must have encountered the same manager at HT in Clayton. After waiting in line to pay for 15 minutes, I finally made it up to the cashier to pay and just as she picked up my first item, the manager walks up and tells her to stop and go on break! I said, "Wait - after she rings me up she can go on break! I've been waiting in line for 15 minutes!' Rather than apologize for my wait... he says to me ' Maam, I don't believe that and I have store cameras to prove it. Are you still going to say 15 min?' I let him know that I would wait while he checked - LOL. He didn't check of course. The cashier, who was very polite, rang me up before going on break. I'm about finished with HT in Clayton....

I hear you, Raesmom. Bad customer service is just something I have a really, really low tolerance for. In fact, there's a manager at the HT in Clayton who is really pushing it with me. In fact, he almost literally knocked me down just this past week running past me without a "sorry, are you ok, excuse me" -- nothing. One more scowl or sarcastic remark from him, and I'm calling HT corporate. And it won't be pretty.

Based on both Faye's assertion that she has not seen the cheese in the 42-50 store and no one saying they actually saw the cheese in the Clayton store lately....I know there are many Clayton area shoppers on this blog....I would say that the lady's little comment was a lie. In other words, they have not gotten any cheese in for this whole 2 weeks! Which does not surprise me in the least the way Lowes operates.

Faye, This is a general question. You indicated below that you can get a rain check based on the store coupon price. Would that apply to any store? Recently HT had a soft soap promo buy 3 get $3.oo making 3 free if you had the coupons to go with the three items. Could I have gotten a rain check for the price of $1.00 instead of $2.00/each(which is what I got). I don't know if this makes any sense. Just thought I'd ask.

jodouglas~in my book, they are history! The level of customer service that they give is ridiculous! Its like they have a bunch of kids running the stores!!! Since my little mishap (over a year ago) I have not stepped foot in a LF. I feel bad bc hubby LOVES the store baked oatmeal raisin cookies that they sell, he says none compare.......but I have found a recipe (from allrecipes.com of course) and he hasnt thought about those cookies since!! Doesnt help that we are more than half way through the year and they have yet to offer 1 SD event!!!??? Yea I get it, blame competition blah blah blah, all of the LF stores could close and it wouldnt phase me a bit.

    Rant over :)

Wow, Nstutt, that was a pretty sarcastic answer you got from Customer Service. I think my tongue would have been bleeding by the time I got out of the store.

Oh Lowes, you really need to step up your customer service game, or you will be history.

  • Faye Prosser -WRAL Smart Shopper Aug 20, 1:05 p.m.

nstutt - Other than the first day that the store coupons came out, I have had trouble finding the same cheese at the 40/42 Lowes Foods as well. I did find it yesterday at the Lowes Foods in Cary on Tryon and Cary Parkway. That store is under heavy construction and looks closed but is actually open. Make sure you get a rain check for the price after store coupon so you can get it when they store coupon runs out and they actually have it in stock again.

I never thought 2 weeks ago when this promotion began that I would be posting something like this but.... I was in the Clayton store for about the 6th time in those 2 weeks yesterday to get the Kraft 16 oz. sliced cheese and they were out of it for the 6th time too. So I went to customer service and asked them why they are always out of this item. The lady said that 'other customers were buying it'. And that was it so I left. But I should have asked and will in the next day or 2 when I attempt to get it again...Ok, if it is obvious as it should be that you are only getting a 1 or 2 day supply of this every time, why aren't you doubling or tripling the order quantity so that more than just 4 or 5 people can buy this product? I can't prove that they have actually been getting in stock of this as the lady said. I have to take her word for it. Maybe I need to pitch a tent outside the store and check every half hour.....a sarcastic lol!
