RALEIGH, N.C. — Evening anchor Lynda Loveland became the latest member of the WRAL staff to go "Over the Edge" for Special Olympics.

Loveland rappelled 30 stories off the Walls Fargo Capitol Center Building on Fayetteville Street Friday to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics North Carolina.

Loveland's drop was broadcast on WRAL's noon news and on WRAL.com, including views from the top of the building, the ground and Lynda.

Loveland followed in the well-tethered footsteps of Ken Smith, Mandy Mitchell and Elizabeth Gardner, who made the drop in 2010, 2011 and 2014, respectively.
