LOUISBURG, N.C. — The Louisburg College Board of Trustees has named Rodney Foth as interim president until a replacement for former president Michael Clyburn can be hired.

Foth has served as executive vice president and vice president for academic life at the college since 2001.

"His seven-year tenure at the college provides us with much-needed continuity and stability as we deal with SACS financial oversight issues and the management of day-to-day operations at the end of this school year," board Chairman John Cameron said in a statement. "The board of trustees will move expediently to establish another presidential search committee whose work will begin immediately."

The college faces possible probation by an accreditation organization in June because of ongoing financial difficulties.

Clyburn resigned this month to accept the presidency of a college in West Virginia.
