Looking for free, cheap summer movie deals? Check our database!

Posted June 4, 2013

One of my favorite parts about summer vacation are all of the free and cheap family movies that you can find at movie theaters, libraries and other venues across the region.

I don't take my kids to many first-run movies. In fact, my three-year-old has never seen one. My eight-year-old has seen maybe a half dozen. The costs add up!  But I do "splurge" in the summer time when the movie theater nearby charges just $1 for a movie and offers deals on popcorn and candy. Free and cheap family movies

But don't just look to movie theaters for deals. Many libraries offer free movies all year. And the N.C. Museum of Art offers a free summer movie series for families featuring short live action and animated films. While many of the deals are on weekdays, there are opportunities to see free or cheap movies on the weekends too.

Where are they? All over. Check our free and cheap summer movie database for details. It lists theaters, libraries and other venues that offer free or cheap movies for families this summer or all year.

If I'm missing one, please send me an email.

Can the search feature on this database be changed so that you can search by city OR county (and not have to choose both)? For example, I would like to look at everything in Wake County without having to look at individual cities separately. Thanks!
