Posted — UpdatedAnd, this weekend, organizers have lined up Statewide Star Parties across North Carolina, giving the public a chance to really study the night sky with the help of telescopes and astronomy experts.
This year is the sixth annual Statewide Star Party. Nearly 40 sites, including local parks, universities, science centers and other venues, will host these free events. About 4,000 visitors and 200 experts are expected to participate, according to the science festival's website.
The theme for this year, according to the science festival's website, is "Anyone Out There?"
