De'Nique Pickering is in a class by herself. She is the only 2015 graduate of Rolesville High School.

ROLESVILLE, N.C. — In cap and gown, De'Nique Pickering marched in to the tune of Pomp and Circumstance. She listened to speakers and musical selections before crossing the stage to accept her diploma. And then, 20 minutes later, the Class of 2015 graduation ceremony for Rolesville High School was over.

Pickering is truly in a class by herself.

Students who started their careers as freshmen at Rolesville, which opened in 2013, won't hit senior status for another two years. But Pickering has completed all her credits and will start culinary school in the fall.

"I knew I wouldn't have everything that a senior person would have but it came together real fast," she said.

A crowd of family, teachers and staff joined her for the one-of-a-kind moment.
