GREENVILLE, N.C. — Rapper and Wake County resident Petey Pablo pleaded guilty Wednesday to possession of a stolen firearm, authorities said.

Pablo, 37, whose real name is Moses Barrett III, faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced in June.

The rapper, best known for his hit songs "Raise Up" and "Freek-a-Leek," was arrested at Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Sept. 11 when a security screener found a 9mm handgun in his carry-on luggage.

Investigators later determined that the gun was stolen, federal prosecutors said.

Pablo was trying to catch a U.S. Airways flight to Los Angeles for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards when he was arrested, authorities said.
