RALEIGH, N.C. — This month, as usual, will be a busy one for local paranormal investigators The Ghost Guild.
The group was founded in 2017 and is the official paranormal investigators for Mordecai Park, where they normally conduct three to four investigations per year.
"We did not get to investigate it at all this year because the park was closed," The Ghost Guild co-founder Nelson Nauss said on this week's WRAL Out and About Podcast. "Normally we do this and in exchange, we present our findings at the annual Haunted Mordecai Festival."

While there was talk about canceling the festival due to coronavirus concerns, Nauss said the event will move forward virtually instead.

The festival will take place online on Oct. 31 from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

"We've done live streams before, but noting like this. This is going to be, in essence, five separate segments on Halloween night," Nauss said.

In addition to a live stream of their investigation at the park, there will also be streams about the history of the location, including the legends associated with it and information about any data the group has collected in the past about that specific location.

"We're going to be moving through the park through the Mordecai House, then Andrew Johnson's presumed birthplace then St. Mark's Chapel," Nauss said. "People get to follow us as we do this all night."

You can get more information on the The Ghost Guild's website about the Halloween live stream, plus The Ghost Guild's participation in the "Science of Fear" virtual event on Oct. 29 presented by the Museum of Life and Science in Durham.
