RALEIGH, N.C.MusicSPARK, part of the annual SPARKcon event held in downtown Raleigh in September, is seeking musicians for this year's event.

MusicSPARK celebrates local artists and their work and helps facilitate collaborations.

To be considered, submit an application. There is a $10 non-refundable entry fee to help cover event expenses. They are using EventBrite, so you will receive a "ticket" which is really just your receipt.

Your work will be reviewed by a jury that includes Craig Reed of Younger Brother Productions, who books local bands at Tir na Nog.

If you get picked for this year's festival, you will have a chance to earn some cash by selling your own swag/merch during your performance. (Note: SPARKcon takes no percentage of merchandise sales during musicSPARK events.)

The entry deadline is midnight June 15.

All submissions will be reviewed by the musicSPARK committee, which will determine which acts to send invitations to in the event there are more submissions than slots to play.

SPARKcon is Sept. 11-14 in downtown Raleigh.
