Local hotels ranked best in the South
Conde Nast Traveler's annual Reader's Choice Awards ranked the Top 50 hotels in the South, and three area hotels made the cut.

Conde Nast Traveler's annual Reader's Choice Awards ranked the Top 50 hotels in the South, and three area hotels made the cut.
A record 46,476 readers participated in this year's contest, rating hotels based on rooms, service, food, location and design.
Fearrington House Inn in Pittsboro clearly wowed guests, as it earned a second place finish. Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary finished in 18th place and Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club in Durham rounded out the list in 44th place.
All three of these hotels are certainly worth a stay. Even if you can't spend the night, why not try the hotels' restaurants? The Fearrington House Restaurant, Herons at Umstead and Washington Duke all serve delicious food – they're all on a Five Faves list!
