Raleigh, N.C. — These thin, crisp cookies are full of flavor. And they even come chocolate-dipped.
Some of our favorites are from Salem Baking Co., which offers a ton of flavors. This Winston-Salem based bakery is the largest in the area and also does Moravian Sugar Cake, which is so yummy.
Salem Baking Co. Chef Alison Turner even created a version of a S'more using their ginger crisp cookies dipped in chocolate and topped with blow-torched marshmallows.
We also love the small, family-owned Mrs. Hanes Moravian Cookies, based on Clemmons, N.C. Definitely try their black walnut flavor.
Another local option is Winkler Bakery. They have grown so much that they have to bake offsite, but they still sell their stuff in Old Salem and online.
I love to get Moravian cookies to send to family who don't live in North Carolina. It gives them a taste of what we have to offer here. All of these cookies can be purchased online and Salem Baking normally has a stand at Crabtree Valley mall in Raleigh during the holidays.
