Local Christmas tree farms let customers cut their own
Want to cut your own Christmas tree, but don't want to head to the mountains? Check out these farms in the Triangle.

I shared stay-and-cut packages in the North Carolina mountains yesterday. But if you want to stay closer to home, eastern North Carolina has some choose-and-cut experiences as well that make a great day trip or test drive to see if you want to head out to the mountains next year.
Some farms are open now, others will open the week of Thanksgiving. As always, call ahead to make sure it's open and trees are available to cut.
Here are Christmas tree farms closer to home:
Boyce Farms, Raleigh
Smith's Family Fun Farm, Hillsborough
Jordan Lake Christmas Tree Farm, Apex, in Chatham County
Christmas Tree Patch, Sanford
Griffin's Evergreens, Sanford
Corn Hill Farms, Kittrell (about nine miles south of Oxford).
B&D Christmas Tree Farm, Fayetteville.
Teri-Jim's Christmas Trees, Dudley.
Back Achers Christmas Tree Farm, Raleigh
