You do not need to be a mom to apply to participate in Listen to Your Mother, a national show with a local performance here in Raleigh later this year. But you do have to have something to say about motherhood.
Last week, I wrote about Listen to Your Mother coming to the Triangle. The live show featuring local writers reading their essays on motherhood is May 8, at Kenan Auditorium, on the campus of William Peace University in downtown Raleigh.
The essays must be about motherhood, but they can be written by anybody - moms, dads, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandmothers, grandfathers ... (you get the picture).
The show just announced that it is is now accepting submissions. Interested writers must submit their pieces between now and Feb. 10. Auditions will be held on March 5 and March 7. The essays should take three to five minutes to read.
For all the details, submission rules and more, check the show's website.
