If you're looking for places to get out and about with the family this year, I like this list of WakeWonders I came across the other day. The list spotlights the "most outstanding natural features in Wake County - features that will inspire, awe and amazement."

The list includes several places Go Ask Mom has featured: Wilkerson Nature Preserve in Raleigh; Harris Lake County Park in New Hill; Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve in Cary; and Prairie Ridge Ecostation in Raleigh. Robertson Millpond Preserve, Temple Flat Rock Preserve and Swift Creek Nature Preserve also are on the list.

Most of them are open to the public. It would be a fun list of places to visit at different times throughout 2016.
