— A Lillington woman was killed in a single-vehicle wreck in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near the Pender-Duplin County line Sunday evening, troopers said.

Troopers said a pickup truck overturned near Highway 117 around 6:30 p.m., killing 78-year-old Buelah Stone, of Lillington, who was in the passenger seat.

Her daughter, Connie Coalville, 56, also of Lillington, was driving the truck. She was taken to New Hanover Regional Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition Sunday night.

Traffic was at a complete standstill for several hours while authorities responded to the scene of the wreck, and cars were backed up all the way to exit 342. Traffic resumed its normal flow Sunday night.

The cause of the wreck was still under investigation.

All this deity talk about "prayer" and this and that.....LOL.
That deity does NOT exist, never has, never will.

religion is the biggest story ever sold to the human masses.

    Let us "pray" Amen!

  • Wags Jul 18, 2011

is the same deity that made this happen?

Nope, not how it works. Not the place here to discuss it, but seek someone near you that is knowledgeable on the subject.....

So that's not how it works. And you know this how? You know facts that others don't know?

@btneast, I agree...it would great if people stuck to the actual news story and didn't always start talking about how they are praying and honoring their god. But, they're entitled to their opinion and I'm not one who supports censorship. Besides, any rational human can see that a powerful, caring deity could have easily prevented this entire accident and death, but either wasn't able to, chose not to or...just doesn't exist.

Praying for the family and from...

"By the tire marks and scrapes on the road, it appeared that the pick up crossed from the left lane to the right lane and bounced off the right side guard rail."

I'm also praying this was something other than an agressive driver that caused this woman to swerve. I was on 95N and a teenager in a pickup truck cutoff a family that was hanging in the left lane. The van swerved so badly before correcting that the back tires bounced. Very surprised it didn't roll. The pickup drove away at 100+ before I could get a plate.

But why put truck? Sounds like a 18 wheeler , when in fact it is a pick up truck....misleading

And I agree with you tar heels 5 I do not know why they do call everything from a hand truck to an 18 wheeler a truck

Because it was in fact a truck. A pick up IS a truck. What else would they call it?

Because other tv stations say "pickup " that is why i questioned it
