Lightning strike causes Raleigh apartment fire

Raleigh, N.C. — A fire that started because of lightning damaged 16 units of a Raleigh apartment complex Tuesday afternoon, Raleigh fire officials said.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, but 19 people were displaced from the apartment complex at 3216 Calumet Drive.
Fire crews responded to the complex about 3:30 p.m., and it took 50 firefighters nearly an hour to control the flames.
