NAGS HEAD, N.C. — A light dusting of snow along the northern Outer Banks prompted a winter weather advisory.

The National Weather Service in Morehead City issued the advisory early Tuesday.

Forecasters said icy roads were possible across northern Dare County until 10 a.m.

In video shot by Sam Walker of The Outer Banks Voice, drivers were slowed by slick roads.

"It was literally a sheet of ice," he said. "It was literally 15 miles an hour down all the by-passes and beach roads. You were sliding."

As much as a half inch of snow was possible from Nags Head to Duck.

Paul and Novuko Bowen said they enjoyed the experience.

"It's great...if you enjoy it, it's not bad at all," Paul Bowen said. "We are enjoying it."

Temperatures were in the upper 20s early Tuesday.
