January 31, 2013 :: Talented owner makes art gallery out of convenient store
Originally from Pakistan, Charlie Saleem migrated to North Carolina to open up the Rock Ridge Family Store in Wilson County. To draw in customers, Charlie decided to make it more than just your average quick stop, filling the store with alluring art - a self-made product. He has decorated the store with everything from stained glass and oil paintings to portraits made out of floor tiles. The gifted owner has used his art to reflect his world travels and he donates much of it to charity. One day, Charlie dreams to convert his convenience store into an art gallery.
