What is your favorite new restaurant and why? What makes it stand apart?
Never underestimate small shopping centers for excellent restaurants. I visited a little restaurant over the weekend in Cary at Ten Ten Road and Kildaire Farm Road and encountered my first glowing menu. Chef's Palette features LED battery-powered menus. They come in handy in a romantic candlelight atmosphere. I also enjoyed the battery powered pepper grinder at this restaurant which features American, Creole, Cajun and Southern cuisines.
High tech splash aside, the restaurant served up some great food. Everything we had from warm jumbo lump crab dip to the house salad to Risotto Ricochet to Symmetrical Shrimp & Grits to after dinner coffee was exceptional. And the place was packed. Even Greg Fishel was there. You know you're going to have good seafood when the Fish shows up.
