I took a vacation day today from my job at WRAL to rest up after a benefit concert for victims of domestic violence last night at Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Garner. We had a wonderful crowd and I hope we did some good for Harbor, Inc. a private, non-profit community agency that brings hope, help and safety to domestic violence and sexual assault victims in Johnston County. It was fun for me to perform along with brilliant pianist and songwriter John Nilsen of Portland.

Tonight I will be officially releasing my new cd Simple Beauty at Quail Ridge Books & Music near Meredith College at 3522 Wade Avenue in Raleigh. We will begin the program at 7:30PM. I hope many of you can attend. I would love to meet you and share stories. There is no cost to the program and no pressure to purchase anything. Just come and have fun. I promise a few surprises!

The album is a collection of ten original and four traditional Celtic songs that celebrate the simple beauty of family, friends, pets and landscapes. I think it's the best album I've ever done.
