Breaking news on my nomadic nephew. Matt Green's walk across America has attracted national press coverage including a lengthy story and video from Martha Irvine of the Associated Press. You can follow the link here to see it. Matt is in the 63rd day of his epic journey which began at Rockaway Beach, NY and will end in Rockaway, Oregon.
Yesterday was a big day for Matt. He celebrated his 30th birthday. He’s already made it to Minnesota and logged more than 1,000 miles. His pace is pretty amazing. Earlier this week in 90 degree heat he managed to walk 28 miles in one day.
The national story has resulted in an explosion of comments on his web page. He now has fans all over the country. You would really like Matt. He’s a bright, creative and caring guy with a unique sense of adventure. He’s living a dream and I admire him for doing so. My sister Miriam plans to walk a couple of days with her son next weekend. I can’t wait to hear her report.
