Raleigh What?

Back in my radio days in a previous century we frequently referred to people from North Carolina's capital as Raleighites. I don't hear that much anymore. In fact I can't remember the last time I heard "Raleighites" uttered in a broadcast. However, I do read the term occasionally in the newspaper. Is "Raleighite" still relevant? If not what should people from Raleigh be called?

I grew up in Morganton. We were Morgantonians. I live now in Cary. I'm a Caryite. I have a friend in Kinston. He's a Kinstonian.

Where do you live and what are the people in your town called?  Please sign in on this issue.

Let's shoot for 100 comments and the Golo Hot List today in honor of  wral.com managing editor Jodi Glusco who came up with today's blog topic.

I suppose that if you're from Laurinburg, you're a Laurinburger.

If you are from Bunn, are you known as a "Bunion"?

Native of NC which our town was small..so no nickname that I knew of..but living in Lynchburg, Va. one is asked upfront if they are a "Lynchburger"..otherwise we don't care. LOL!! Good ole North Carolina. Way to go.

Yellow, when I was growing up in Cary we did indeed call them "A-peckers". Now I have an Apex address, I guess I am one of them. I have a Garner phone number so I guess I have the choice of that or "Garnerean", which sounds even worse. My wife is from Edenton, at least "Edentonians" sounds respectable if a bit pretentious.

People from Charlotte should be called "charlatans"

I am from Horn. I am a hornie.

If you live in Supply, are you a "Supplier"?

Born in Lowland;hence, a Lowlander. Live now in New Bern;hence, a New Bernian. Have lived in Williamston, Roanoke Rapids,Henrico,Lakeland,Fl.,Rocky Mount, Minnesott Beach, and San Francisco. Call me what you want, but you better call me quickly........I stay on the move!!!!

People from Maine are called Mainers!!!

If you're from Seattle are you a "Seattlite"?
