What North Carolina towns are often misspelled?
As a child I was so excited to receive my first box of personalized stationery from Uncle Henry. That is, until I read the address printed on the fine paper. The printer assumed Uncle Henry misspelled the name of my town on the order form. So this is how it looked on the envelope and letterhead:
Morgantown, NC 28655
Maybe the printer was from West Virginia. I don’t know, but I remember how deeply disappointed I was.
