Your Wish for 2010

Posted December 31, 2009

What is your wish for 2010? Peace on earth? A new job? A fresh start? Please share your wishes for the New Year.

As I have learned in having my personality analyzed over the years I’m a lot like my puppy Rufus – I like to please people and win and retain their friendships. You may have done the Myers-Briggs drill. My personality type is ENFJ.

This morning I was happy to receive an email from Gary Pierce confirming another year of our friendship. I wanted to share Gary’s 2010 Contract:

After serious & cautious consideration... your contract of friendship has been renewed for the New Year 2010!

It was a very hard decision to make... So try not to screw it up!!!

My wish for you in 2010:

May peace break into your home and may thieves come to steal your debts.

May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet for $50 bills.

May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips!

May happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy.

May the problems you had, forget your home address!

In simple words: May 2010 be the best year of your life!!!

This is not exactly on-topic, but I wish everyone would call the new year by the same name. Some are saying twenty ten, and some are saying two thousand ten. I personally prefer two thousand ten, after all, we didn't say twenty 08 or twenty 09, etc.

Refrain from something you want and give to someone who needs it. Be satisfied each day when you wake up and find your are still on the right side of the dirt. Remember two things you can never give out of and they cost you nothing, but are worth more than gold...a smile and a kind word. May you and your family be blessed with those things you truly need. You're on your own when it comes to things you just want. And, may God give you the ability to tell the difference and in such you find happiness.

Tomorrow is the start of a new adventure for me as I retire from working for the state after 33 years of service (2 in Kansas!)today. I will still be working with children but on a reduced schedule. My goal is to concentrate on my health and embrace a slower pace of life. I am sure I heard my daughter smirk all the way from Youngsville when I typed that last part. Spending more time with my husband, children and grandchildren is also high on my list. I may look in to advocacy for children. It is a rough world out there and so many need help. Bill, may your music continue to flow like a river in 2010. Happy new year everyone!

That's a fun contract Bill. It looks to me like "May 2010" is the month to plan on...Happy New Year.

I wish for all of my friends and family to get or keep thier current jobs, the kids to do well in school, and the family continue to be supportive of one another in times of need. I wish that all people could be constructive and not destructive. Mostly I wish continuing health to those who have had illness in 2009, that they may have a better 2010.

Bill, I'm an ENFP!! One of the categories that has the fewest people. My hope and necessity for the New Year is to finish my dissertation so I can get that Ph.D.!!!!!! I also would love to see the US get priorities straightened out -- get our eyes focused back on the things that matter, and find our focus as a great nation. I wish the greedy people who love to scam honest people out of their money would learn that true riches come from things that can't be counted, like family, friends, God and faith. Maybe we'll see some of that happen. Again, Happy New Year to you and your family and to all of your bloggers!!
