Great Customer Service

Posted December 10, 2009

I'd like to start a shout-out blog. Please give a shout-out to anyone who has given you great customer service this month during your holiday shopping. Mention them by name if you can.

Remember the Simon & Garfunkel song "Keep the Customer Satisfied?" Well, it's an important part of doing business. My parents, William & Charlotte Leslie ran a store in Morganton where I grew up. They sold everything from books to art supplies and wedding gifts to those cool View Masters. I remember getting that lecture from my parents before hitting the floor as a store clerk: "Always be friendly, helpful and tireless in your pursuit of service."

Cindy and I hit some stores earlier this week to do some of our shopping. I'd like to give a special shout-out to Debbie at the Hallmark store at Crabtree Valley Mall and Chuck in the drum department at Guitar Center off Capital Boulevard. Debbie and Chuck were oozing warmth and helpfulness. So was David Faircloth at Anytime Wines in Cary. David has a great sense of humor and is extremely knowledgeable.

Who would you like to honor?  We'll try to come up with a little prize for the most outstanding nominee.

I wish I knew the guy's name who helped us, but Game Stop at White Oak has got to have the best guys working there. They have always been helpful and they know their stuff. Always courteous and going out of their way to help. Thanks guys!

Everyone at Diamonds Direct @ Crabtree is fantastic to deal with, but Richard Posey and Raj Aggarwal are exceptional with their customers. They are always accommodating and make sure that I'm always greeted and waited on when I walk in the door (and that was before I even became a regular!)

"I might be a little biased but... the customer service at Chick-Fil-A at Stone Creek Village is ALWAYS outstanding :)"

I agree! The staff there is always super nice! Also, I'd like to give a shout at to the store staff at C. Barrell off of Airport Blvd. they have always been super friendly to me! Also the ladies that Run the "Pink Alli" at Stone Creek Village in Cary are super too!

I'd like to give a big shoutout to Teresa aka as "T" at George's Diner on Hillsborough Road in Durham. When my mom and I pull into the parking lot, she immediately has our booth ready for us with the menus, napkins and the eating utensils.

The server, Jen, at Kickback Jack's in Garner is WONDERFUL! I was there on a Saturday night with some friends AND kids...needless to say a mite bit chaotic!

She was so sweet and made sure the food came out quickly, the order was right, and played with the kids to keep them entertained every time she walked by. Now my 10 year old has a crush on her too!

We never felt rushed even though there was a wait and Jen made it feel like a neighborhood restaurant that welcomes you back!

While the staff overall was great Jen certainly wins not only server of the month for me but the year!

I hope it's okay if I give a reverse shoutout to our customers. I work at Hilton's in Wilson and truly enjoy going to work because of the customers I've come to know there. In this day and age of chain store discounts and online shopping, it pleases me to no end to see how loyal our customers are. Merry Christmas to each and every one of you!
