That Crazy Rufus!

That Crazy Rufus

That crazy Rufus! My new puppy sure loves water. A rainy day? No problem. He’ll lie down on wet grass and have a “puddle wonderful time.”

Rufus really took the cake yesterday. After working out at the gym I turned on my shower to clean up. Rufus was chewing on an old bedroom slipper. When I opened the glass door Rufus rocketed across the bedroom and into the shower just ahead of me. After a brief but thorough drenching I pulled him out and showered myself. As soon as I stepped out of the shower Rufus appeared again this time wanting to lick the water off my toes. What a character! But I sure do love him!

What is the funniest puppy story you know? Please share.

Also, give me a caption for this recent photograph of Rufus. I’ll start with “Rufus looking up for Sky 5.”

Tomorrow we’ll announce the holiday gift list winner.

Uh oh, what have I done now Daddy?? I didn't mean to do it!!

The caption for Rufus's picture should be "I didn't do it!"

kimwells - Our Dalmation does the same thing - he walks straight to the counter where his treats are kept everytime he comes in from outside, kinda like "Give me a treat because I went outside to do my business instead of doing it in the house."

We have a 3 year old Jack Russell that we rescued, Duncan. One night we were sitting in the living room & Duncan came running in carrying the cup we use to give him food & water. My husband went to investigate, and realized Duncan needed water, and he was letting us know. He is also very good about going to the cabinet & "picking out" either his "Beggin Strips" or his milk bones - normally the begging strips win, but it is fun to watch him go right to the cabinet, and pick the exact one he wants. Another antic is to go and get his leash and bring it to you when he is ready to go out to walk - he is so much fun to have in our family!

We have 2 dogs, a 9 year Dalmation, Hershey, & a 3 year old Rat Terrier, Lady. My husband had finished eating a bag of pretzels & Lady was on the arm of the recliner. My husband had balled up the bag & put it down beside him in the recliner. Hershey was trying to get in my husband's lap (He still thinks that he is a lap dog!) when Lady sailed at him barking & growling!! She was "protecting" the empty bag of pretzels because she went right to the bag. Hershey didn't get in the chair. He tried again a few minutes later & she did it again, this time bopping him on the nose. We laughed & laughed over her antics!!!

I can't help but think about the commercial that a rival TV news program in the Triangle did a number of years ago when the war in Afghanistan started. They sent their long-time anchorman over and the commercial showed him in full camouflage gear "watching out" for the enemy. Rufus looks like he's On Patrol!

Mr. Bill you have plenty of fun and interesting things to come. haha!!! Puppies are a joy as you are finding out. But word of advice, the best is yet to come!!! Wait til he goes through his terribl2e 2's....

"He He He He bet he can't guess what I'll get into next!!"

Om My . . . I have so many Sport Marie and Fella Sue puppy stories. How about the time Fella Sue got sick at puppy school and vomitted BLACK! The trainer and I could NOT figure out what it was. She seemed fine. When I got home, I found she had eaten a PEN!!! Yummy. Try taking a Christmas picture with 2 basset hound puppies wearing Santa hats. Right . . . one hat lost the pompom (I assume it was eaten) and we never did get a picture with the hats. You should see the 'rejected' pictures!

Lisa

Dare me!!!!!!!!!

After reading your story, the caption should read as follows: "Did I just hear the shower turn on again?!"
