Your Holiday Gift List

What’s on your holiday gift list?  What do you really want Santa to bring this year?

The person who comes up with the most unique holiday gift list will receive a prize. I will give the winner a choice of either my coffee table book Blue Ridge Reunion or two of my CDs.

I hate to admit this but I’ve got some expensive items on my wish list and I really don’t know if I’ve been good enough this year! A macro lens for my Canon camera would be great. Plus, I really need to move into the modern era and get a Blackberry or I-Phone. Other than Monica I may be the only person in the newsroom without one. In addition, I heard a Santa Cruz guitar played by William Coulter the other day. The sound was absolutely fabulous and I’d like to get one of those guitars. Santa, I’m willing to sell one of my old guitars for a Santa Cruz which sounds like a reindeer courier service. I only have three guitars in my collection. As for my Celtic whistle collection – I’m set. I think I have one in every key possible.

If all of that is too expensive some new gym clothes, running shoes and white handkerchiefs will do just fine, Santa.

Now, what is your holiday gift list?

I'm still waitin' on that Barbie Doll Dreamhouse! I've wanted that thing for at least 30 years!

I had to blog again, after reading the others- To the lady with the 3 kids that wants a new toilet- I so hope you will get your wish. My daughter is a single mom, having a rough time, works hard, good-hearted and loving. I wish I had the funds to pay her rent for December and to buy you a toilet among other things you and the kids might need. Maybe that will come to you with good will from others and deep faith in the Lord-God Bless You and Merry Christmas.

Gee, Bill, I would love to have your little Rufus, but I bet that would never happen- he is so sweet and I'm sure you are a good Daddy.

Seriously, I wish people would open up their hearts to the homeless, the sick, the mentally ill, and to stray, unwanted animals. If I could get my wish, I would ask for enough money to open my own rescue with lots of nice people to help me run it, especially those out of work right now-I would pay them well.

Merry Christmas to everyone and to you, Bill Leslie.

A new front door is at the top of my gift list-ours has split from age! Next on my list is a set of gas logs and to have the old wallpaper stripped from my bat.

I really wish for Santa to come down my chimney like he did many years ago and find my shoe box, sitting by the open fireplace and fill it with nuts, fruits and candy. I may even see him stealing a kiss from Mommie as well. What a wonderful dream and what I really want is Peace on Earth and Goodwill toward all mankind. Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight's sleep.

I would love to have a wall tent in my back yard and an outdoor bath tub. What luxury! Could there be a better way to spend warm summer nights?

All I'm asking for this year is time with family & friends filled with lots of Love, Happiness and Togetherness!!!! Simple, but as time goes by, it's harder and harder just for family time so Santa, can you help out?

I understand and agree with all the people about the needs of others, and for Christmas I usually don't ask for anything I enjoy the joy in my children's eyes and laughter and gratitude, but this year I do have to ask Santa for one thing and that is a new toilet. I am a single mom with 3 kids and this past weekend it decided it wanted to overflow as we were heading out to church, but somehow mommy came to the rescue like other times, but it would be so nice if we could get a nice new toilet without a broken seat and would flush and fill the right way!

My Christmas wish list is to take away the pain a cousin is experiencing, curing another cousin of a rare anemia that could be fatal, jobs for friends and family that are unemployed, success for the struggling companies I work for, successful shoulder surgery for my mom, food on the table for those who have lost their jobs or just can't make ends meet, a warm bed for the homeless. Those who know me well know that I am sincere in my wishes and join me in prayer for those in need and assist when they can by donating to worthy causes that help those in need. I hate the commercialism that has taken over the true meaning of Christmas and strive to make the world a better place by my prayers and donations.

I've been cleaning off the front of our frig today, peeling off 8 1/2 years of photos of our two beautiful daughters, and this made me realize what I'd like for Christmas. I would love for every child in Wake County's Foster Care Program to have a loving family to experience the joys of the holiday season with. We were placed with our daughters in the spring of 2001 and our adoptions were finalized in January of 2002. I cannot express to you how unbelievably blessed we are, how thankful we are to God for them and how honored we are that He chose us to be their parents. Each of the children currently waiting for adoption or foster placement is also a gift from God. I wish that none of them had to spend another Christmas waiting for their "Forever Family".
