Pet Peeve Thursday

It’s pet peeve Thursday. What’s been getting under your skin lately? It’s okay. Go ahead and push the button labeled “Annoyances.”

I’ve got a pet peeve I’d like to share – people who go to the post office totally unprepared. I love the folks who work at the post office on Avent Ferry Road in Raleigh including Tony, Romeo, Sharon, Dale and Linda. They are always cheerful, helpful and highly professional. I was in there the other day and this guy had three things to mail but he had no boxes, sketchy address information and simply no clue about common courtesy.

The staff handled the situation with poise and patience but I felt sorry for the people in line waiting to get their packages mailed. Is it too much to ask for someone to package, tape and address their items before they arrive at the post office?

It’s really not that hard.

Okay, it’s your turn. What’s your pet peeve this week?

Chelswcu... i know what you are talking about... HarryTetter on Davis....

I have two.

1) People that are stopped in the lanes of the parking lot at Wal-mart waiting for you to put your bags in the car and leave so that they can take your spot. (I have suddenly gotten the urge to walk to another store before. Man, that's fun.)

2. The people that talk about how much they work, but in reality they're the laziest person ever. There's this woman at my work like that. She's all like, "I'm turning my life around." But in reality she's just upgraded who she mooches off of.

I'm sure if I thought I could come up with more, but that's all. Y'all's are all good!

Disgusting as it sounds--my pet peeve is people that are disrespectful enough to blow their nose in a restaurant while others are trying to enjoy their meal. Once is enough, but to continue to do it is so horrible. I actually saw a man and woman get up and throw their food away because this happened- and did not leave without confronting the person first. I have a weak stomach-so you know what I did, also.

Certain motorcyclists that feel it necessary to rev their engines at a stoplight. You know who you are.

People who are late for almost everything.

One of my pet peeves are drivers in the left lane of the interstate going slower than drivers in the right lane!

I hate when someone is supposed to be waiting on me and they are chit chatting on the phone. You can't give me the full attention I am paying for if you are on the phone!!

People talking on cell phones while driving...if I receive a call while driving, I pull off the road. I can then give my full attention to the caller w/o compromising the safety of myself, or other people on the road because I'm distracted.

Walking into a grocery store and the cashier being forced to say "Welcome to ****** " without being taught to say it like them mean it.

Reaching an Indian phone bank when placing a customer service call. Nothing against Indians, it's just they can't understand me any better than I can understand them.

Folks who don't even acknowledge someone's presence when a door is opened for them. Some even find the gesture insulting.

I find people who find me annoying, annoying.
