Bill Leslie's Carolina Conversations

Boy Towns

Posted September 24, 2009

It’s a long day ahead. I’ve got rehearsal this afternoon for The Raleigh Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony tonight where I will serve as emcee. So I don’t have a lot of time to work on one of my weekly projects. Could I get some help from you?

We develop themes each week for our Hometown Hello segments on Fox 50 news at 7:10AM and 810AM. This week we have profiled towns with girl’s names. Margaretsville, Elizabeth City, Madison, Rose Hill and Maggie Valley are our honored guests this week. Next week we would like to profile North Carolina towns with boy’s names. I can think of a few such Clyde near Asheville but I would like you to help me out.

Nominate a community which contains a boy’s name and watch us talk about it on the morning news next week!

We’re accepting your nominations right now!

Wade in Cumberland county, Matthews in mecklenburg, Marvin in union county, George in North Hampton, "thomas"ville, the weirdest one is Eli Whitney in Alamance- but the post office thinks its in Graham. Hey, I knew a kid named Graham in Hickory.
