10 Lbs. Down - Tailor Time!

It’s tailor time! The new suit I bought in January doesn’t fit anymore. The pants are too loose around the waist. I love this kind of problem.

Yes, I made my goal of 179 pounds this morning. I’m halfway home in the Ten Pounds Down – Ten Week Weight Loss Challenge. I’d like to credit Brian Shrader for my progress this week. Brian booked me for his Live @ Show today to talk about the program. I didn’t want to spend the whole time making excuses.

Many of you have told me that you are also trying to shed a few pounds. How are you doing? Please talk about the struggles and conquests. I saw personal trainer and registered dietitian Tara Wind at the gym yesterday. She’s ready to answer your questions.

I’ve continued an active exercise program. No major changes. My diet has been pretty consistent. I did splurge on Allen & Son barbecue in Chapel Hill on the way to the mountains last week. Talk about a great meal! Following a hearty workout I polished off a large barbecue plate and four hushpuppies.

Well, the new goal is 178 lbs. by next Wednesday. That will put me just four pounds shy of my overall goal of 174. Wish me luck and I’ll do the same!

I have a handwritten summary of my diet and exercise log. If anyone requests it I’ll be glad to post it.

Basically by watching portion sizes and cutting out most sugary carbs (regular soft drinks, cakes, pies, white potatoes, white bread). I still eat these from time to time but in moderation. And I walk a mile everyday.

Walking and cutting out the regular soft drinks had most to do with it, I think. I'd usually drink 3 or 4 soft drinks daily, and the calories would add up quickly.

Hey Tennispro! We had the Jersey Boys on for an interview. Great guys! Glad you had a good time.

Way to go Bill!! I love the special k cinnamon pecan cereal too!! Everyone please go see Jersey Boys!! When I shut my eyes I know I heard the real Frankie Valli singing!! wonderful!!

Excellent br! How did you accomplish your weight loss?

I lost two inches in my waist and had to buy new pants and shirts after losing 10+ pounds a few months ago. I think that is a small price to pay for better health.

Keep it up Bill.

Congrats thefensk! Thanks for sharing you secrets to success!

I was at 210 this morning! That's ten pounds since this program started, which was my initial goal. I have been dieting since the first of February, down 30 overall since then. Up until this time, I had been on low carb, but had stalled at 220. Although for the most part I don't mind low carb at all and follow it well most of the time, it does get boring. So with this program I've gone more normal but have been very much watching what I eat. And my exercise is way up since my knees settled down. The only days I don't "exercise" are usually days I cut the grass. Everyone always tells me to get a riding lawnmower but I respond, "Why, so I can finish faster and go to the gym?"

Anyway, I set a 10 pound goal along with you, so I hit it. My new goal is 200. My doctor told me he'd be happy if I could just keep it under 200.
